About western Los Angeles
California Hospital Medical Center is located in the fast-growing metropolitan center that is Downtown Los Angeles. This community is a melting pot of cultures, lifestyles and activities. Although the hospital is located in the heart of downtown, many employees, physicians and patients opt to live in the neighboring enclaves in Los Angeles, such as Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Glendale, West Los Angeles, and the San Gabriel Valley. Downtown itself is experiencing a construction boom and now boasts a growing residential population – with about 30,000 new residents who have bought new lofts in the area. Residents here enjoy mild winters and warm summers, with average temperatures ranging from the mid-40s in January to the 90s in July.

Popular Attractions
Area residents can enjoy a blend of history and performing arts with attractions including the Disney Concert Hall and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Museums and galleries for exploring ranging from hands-on programs like those at Science Museum to the fun, historic collections found at the Museum of Contemporary Art, LA County Museum of Art, and Museum of Natural History, to fun-filled days in Disneyland and Universal Studios, surfing in the renowned Southern Calfornia Beaches to skiing at nearby ski resorts – all within less than a few hours’ drive from Downtown Los Angeles.
